We manufacture a wide variety of knurled inserts, or anchors, which replace potted or heli-coil inserts. These anchors are made of 6061T6 aluminum, have completely knurled exteriors, and most have an outside diameter of .250″. One end of the knurled insert is sealed (blind hole), and the threaded end comes in sizes that can accommodate number 4, 6, 8 and 10 screws. One of our customers buys these by the thousands and says that these inserts are so useful that they are virtually “free” to them because they are so easy to install and so effective.
These knurled inserts come in lengths ranging from 3/16″ to 1″ for each screw size. The first number in the part number refers to the screw size and the second number is the length in 1/16″ increments. So, an A6x8 is a knurled insert that accommodates a number 6 screw and the knurled insert is 8/16″ or 1/2″ long. Likewise, an A10x5 is an anchor that takes a number 10 screw and the anchor is 5/16″ inches long. We sell these inserts in multiples of 100.

We also have a few specialty inserts. The A10x34 accommodates a number 10 screw and is about 3.25″ long. We have a few inserts that have a 3/16″ diameter. Those inserts have a “-3” after their part number. Those stocked inserts are the A4x4-3, A4x6-3 and A6x4-3.
